Wildflower

The group performs on duo keyboards and guitars, cello, and flute. They create a fresh, effervescent sound with a delightful mix of covers and originals written by two of the members. Their music is an eclectic, yet cohesive style of contemporary folk and romantic soft rock. 

About Wildflower

 

Patti is a singer, songwriter and guitarist who frequently performs throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota. Her finger-picking style on guitar produces a gentle, calming effect and her vocals are rich and true. Patti writes reflective, original folk tunes and has released a CD entitled “Come Home.” She frequently performs on river boats and at civic and church festivals. Patti is a high school special education teacher with a master’s degree focus on music as therapy.


Amanda is a singer/songwriter for the group and has released and produced three albums. Her first is titled “Trains, Cars & A Trip To Mars,” and is made for families with young children. Amanda’s cover song, “You Are My Sunshine” was featured in Parents magazine in 2010. “Embrace,” and “Keeping Hearts” are both contemporary romantic rock albums released in 2012 & 2014. She holds a communication and music degree from Winona State, and enjoys presenting for youth writing and artist events, and performing locally as a solo artist with her original children’s and acoustic rock music. She has been a featured performing artist in MWMF each year.


Aleah is the primary pianist and vocalist of Wildflower. She is a graduate of the music program at St. Mary’s of Winona, and a private piano instructor.  Her gift to the group is her ability to create an intimate impression with the keyboard, and her voice adds a soft touch in each piece. Her work on the album Embrace includes, “At Last” & “Ain’t No Way.”


Cindy is a new addition to the group as cellist. She was born and raised in Iowa, and even though she has lived in Minnesota longer than in Iowa, she still considers herself an Iowa Hawkeye. She received her Bachelor of Music from the University of Iowa and M.S. in Education from Winona State. She has taught orchestra at every level in the Winona Area Public Schools and is currently Orchestra Director at Winona Senior High as well as teaching beginning strings at Madison and W-K Elementary Schools. In addition, she has played in many regional orchestras and is currently a cellist in the LaCrosse Symphony.
